Autumn is here!

We love autumn for the changing colour leaves and cosy evenings by the fire.. but most of all for all the amazing produce that’s finally in season!

It is always best to eat the fruit and vegetables that are in season. There are several reasons for it: it’s better for you as food harvested in season is more nutritionally dense; it is more environmentally friendly as the produce doesn’t have to ‘travel’ as far to reach you; it also tastes better!

Autumn is the perfect time to start cooking more wholesome meals with aromatic and warming spices such as cinammon, ginger, curry.

Here’s a list of fruit and vegetables you should keep an eye out for in stores in the coming months.

Vegetables:

  • pumpkin
  • beetroot
  • peppers
  • carrots
  • eggplant
  • courgette
  • cauliflower
  • broccoli
  • leeks
  • parsley

Fruit:

  • apple
  • pear
  • plum
  • grapes

Remember to include these in your meals in the coming months! Delicious and full of goodness!
